Introduction

The Instinctive Center is present in all living beings.  From the one celled organism to the blue whale, the Instinctive center is the foundation of life.  It links everything together as one, and yet can also be isolating and separating, depending on how the energy manifests.

The job of the Instictive Center is to keep you alive.  Safety is part of this, as is managing the basic alive-ness of your body.  It contains a deep repository of your experience, from how to live in various situations, to records of connections with others, to validations of perceptions, to a connection with the basic aliveness of All That Is.  It is a foundation from which you make choices in your life.

The positive pole of the Instictive Center is +Atomic.  From this pole, there is a connection, however unconscious, with the oneness of All That Is.  There is thus more of a trust in the safety of the universe, for it is you.  There is resonance with others and connection.

The negative pole of -Anatomic sees yourself as alive but separate.  From living in the perception of total separation it is easy to see the world as unsafe, hostile, isolating, and a place where defenses need to be in place at all times.

Those who have clear issues of safety and defensiveness present at all times have imbalances in their Instinctive Center.  Conscious use of the energy, seeing all of the energy as a good thing, full of aliveness, can help.  Consciousness in all forms - even of the 'negative' - will always help you move to the positive pole.   It will also help create a Conscious Connection to Essence.

Fear and the Instinctive Center

Because fear is rooted in the perception of separation, the basic experience of fear is rooted in the instinctive center.  It is another way of stating the negative pole.  In an +Atomic perception of oneness and unity, fear is not the force as you know it otherwise.  It dissipates quickly.  Joy is a natural state in the positive pole.

Fear can also result from stored memories in the Instinctive Center.  It is a repository between lives, and so a traumatic death (of one's self and of others) can cry out at times and create fear that tries to keep one alive.

Even though fear is sometimes touted as the "opposite of Love", in Michael terms this is not true; nothing is the opposite of Love, as that which is all-emcompassing has no opposite.  Fear is to be welcomed as much as any experience, as it is part of being human.   Part of the process of moving to the positive pole of the Instinctive Center is the journey of learning to love fear.  Fear is always there to help you; when you fully listen to it, it brings you more into the aliveness of the present moment.

Because the instinctive center houses past life memories, some people find past life regression to be beneficial to let go of unnecessary "tapes" that keep playing in circumstances that do not need them.  For instance, a traumatic death at the hands of dogs may result in a phobia that can be released by a form of hypnosis.  This is a form of Instinctive Center work.

At the core of the Instinctive center is the concept of Choice, which is also part of the core of the Michael Teachings.  All is chosen.  Being alive is a choice.  Attention is a choice.  When the full extent of this is realized, you bring much power to this Physical Plane
