Your personality is the manifestation of your being and Essence on the Physical Plane.  While it is not separate from the deeper levels of yourself, usually you are not conscious of the vast awareness and potential that is your deeper self.

True Personality

True Personality is essentially the energy that is an extension of the Spark and Essence manifested on the Physical Plane.  It is who you are, without the limitation of the Chief Feature, blocks in perception, or Fear. 
In your Overleaves in the Michael Teachings system, your true personality is essentially you operating in the positive poles. 

False Personality

The false personality is what is commonly known as Ego.  It is a protective layer put on over yourself to protect who you are from an atmosphere that feels threatening and hostile.  Sometimes it is like a blank wall, and other times it may be like a diversion, pretending to be someone else.  This may not be a conscious choice; imprinting from how you were raised in childhood teaches us all some ways to cope by pretense.
